Introducing Neuronic's Newest Preset Programs: Ease & Momentum

Ease and Momentum are two new Neuronic preset programs, each built from two existing program segments that run back-to-back with no break. Ease (15 minutes) runs Glow, then an extended Peace, for a gentler session. Momentum (20 minutes) runs Glow, then Focus, for a more energizing one.

What should I know about Ease and Momentum in 30 seconds?

  • Ease, 15 minutes: 5 minutes of Glow (100% intensity, no pulse), then 10 minutes of extended Peace (10 Hz, 50% intensity).
  • Momentum, 20 minutes: 10 minutes of Glow (100% intensity, no pulse), then 10 minutes of Focus (40 Hz, 70% intensity).
  • No break between steps. Each program appears as two steps on the Programs page, with a step-based running screen and no video.
  • Marked NEW for everyone. The tag stays for a while so every user notices the new programs.
  • Dose labels updated. Because Ease and Momentum sit at the top of the intensity range, the dose label on every existing program was re-graded at the same time.

What are the new Neuronic preset programs, Ease and Momentum?

A Neuronic preset program is a ready-made near-infrared light session in the Neuronic app, defined by three settings: time (how long it runs), intensity (the share of the session the light is on) and pulse rate (how fast the light switches on and off, measured in Hz). Ease and Momentum are the first presets made of two of these sessions chained together. Each one runs two existing program segments one after the other, with no pause between them.

Program Total timeStep 1Step 2
Ease15 minutesGlow: 5 minutes, 100% intensity, no pulseExtended Peace: 10 minutes, 10 Hz, 50% intensity
Momentum20 minutesGlow: 10 minutes, 100% intensity, no pulseFocus: 10 minutes, 40 Hz, 70% intensity

Both programs look and run like custom programs: two steps, details for each step, and a step-by-step running screen. They are the first combinations put together by Neuronic itself, so you can start one with a single tap instead of setting up the sequence yourself.

How does the Ease program work?

Ease is a 15-minute, two-step Neuronic preset program that opens with a short, full-strength Glow step and finishes with a longer, gentler Peace step. Think of it as a brief, all-out warm-up followed by a steady, relaxed walk.

  1. Step 1, Glow (5 minutes): 100% intensity with no pulse, so the light stays on constantly for the whole step.
  2. Step 2, extended Peace (10 minutes): a 10 Hz pulse at 50% intensity. Extended Peace keeps the 10 Hz pulse of the standard Peace program, which runs 9 minutes at 20% intensity, but runs longer and at a higher intensity.

The two steps run continuously. When Glow ends, extended Peace begins automatically.

Use Ease if:

  • You already like starting with Glow and want a calmer second step instead of choosing one yourself.
  • You want a combined session that fits into 15 minutes.
  • You prefer the Peace-style 10 Hz pulse to finish on.

How does the Momentum program work?

Momentum is a 20-minute, two-step Neuronic preset program that pairs a 10-minute Glow step with a 10-minute Focus step. Think of it as a strong opener followed by a brisk uphill hike: the longest and most energizing of the new programs.

  1. Step 1, Glow (10 minutes): 100% intensity with no pulse. This is the same length as the standard Glow program.
  2. Step 2, Focus (10 minutes): a 40 Hz pulse at 70% intensity. The standard Focus program uses the same 40 Hz pulse but runs 6 minutes at 50% intensity.

There is no break between the steps. Focus starts as soon as Glow finishes.

Use Momentum if:

  • You want to follow Glow with a goal program without building the sequence manually.
  • You want a longer, higher-intensity session built around the 40 Hz Focus pulse.
  • You have about 20 minutes for a single session.

What is the difference between Ease and Momentum?

The difference is the second step. Both Neuronic programs start with Glow (constant light at 100% intensity, no pulse), but Ease finishes with a 10 Hz extended Peace step at 50% intensity, while Momentum finishes with a 40 Hz Focus step at 70% intensity. Ease is shorter and gentler; Momentum is longer and stronger.

Why did Neuronic build combined preset programs?

We built Ease and Momentum because people were already combining Neuronic programs themselves. A custom program is a session a user builds step by step in the app, and roughly one in five sessions is now a custom program, making custom the second most-used category after Glow.

When we looked at what people actually build, we found they are not fine-tuning frequencies. They are chaining two presets in a row because they want more variety. Our support and consultation teams hear the same thing from clients: how do I combine programs? Clinicians were already suggesting that people start with Glow and then add a goal program.

Shipping the most common combinations ourselves does three things:

  • Gives you variety without setup. One tap starts a two-step session.
  • Helps newer users. If you would rather be told what to do, a preset answers that.
  • Produces clean, structured data. Unlike freeform custom programs, a preset always has the same two steps, which makes it possible to build progress tracking on top of it.

Ease and Momentum also arrive for people who bought their device long ago. If you have been using Neuronic for a year or more, these programs are new value added to what you already own.

How do Ease and Momentum compare to Neuronic's other preset programs?

Ease and Momentum are the two longest Neuronic presets, and the only ones made of two steps. The four single-step presets (Peace, Balance, Focus and Glow) are described in detail in our guide to which Neuronic preset protocol is best for you.

Neuronic PresetStepsTotal TimeIntensityPulse Rate
Balance13 minutes70%14 Hz
Focus16 minutes50%40 Hz
Peace19 minutes20%10 Hz
Glow110 minutes100%None (continuous wave)
Ease (new)215 minutes100%, then 50%None, then 10 Hz
Momentum (new)220 minutes100%, then 70%None, then 40 Hz

Which Neuronic program should I choose?

Choose the program whose finish matches how you want your session to end. Start from the goal, then adjust based on how you feel; there is no single right program, and every brain responds differently.

  • Waking up feeling like you did not sleep, and want something calming: Ease, which finishes on the 10 Hz Peace pulse.
  • Reading the same sentence twice and want a longer, energizing session: Momentum, which finishes on the 40 Hz Focus pulse.
  • Need a quick mid-day recharge in a few minutes: Balance, the 3-minute preset.
  • Want maximum constant light on its own: Glow.
  • Want a short reset on its own: Peace.
  • Want a focused session on its own: Focus.

You do not have to stick with one program. Like exercise, it is fine to use Ease on one day and Momentum on another, depending on your energy. If you are new to your device, build up gradually.

Frequently asked questions about Ease and Momentum

Is there a break between the two steps?

No. In both Ease and Momentum the two steps run continuously, and the second step starts automatically as soon as the first finishes.

How is a preset like Ease different from a custom program?

A custom program is one you build yourself in the app. Ease and Momentum are ready-made by Neuronic, but they look and run like custom programs: two steps, details for each step, and a step-based running screen with no video.

Are Ease and Momentum available to people who already own a Neuronic device?

Yes. Both programs are marked NEW for everyone from release, including people who bought their device a year or more ago.

How often should I use Ease or Momentum?

There is no single right schedule. Start gradually, notice how you feel, and adjust. Every brain responds differently, so follow the device's user manual and talk to a qualified healthcare professional about what is appropriate for you.
