Discussion Rounds

The Neuronic Discussion Rounds are a monthly online series of professionals, researchers, academics, and others interested in the science, research, and clinical application of photobiomodulation (PBM) and related neurotechnologies.

Each session features a presentation from a researcher or clinician working in the field, followed by open discussion and questions from attendees. Topics have included neuroimaging methods for tracking cognitive change, case data in APOE4 carriers, combined PBM and VR protocols, and metabolic approaches in neurodevelopmental conditions. Presenters speak to their own research and their own conclusions.

Sessions are free and held online. Each one is recorded and uploaded to Neuronic’s public YouTube playlist, and a link to the recording is emailed to attendees the following week.

Our goal is to foster collaborative learning and thoughtful discussion around PBM and its evolving applications. This series is hosted by Neuronic.

When Light Meets Metabolism: Infrared Light, Mitochondria, and Electron Transfer

Could infrared light from the Sun influence how mitochondria move electrons and produce energy? Dr. Roger Seheult presents the hypothesis behind the preprint Metabolism in the Solar Photon Field, connecting Marcus electron transfer theory, mitochondrial biology, tissue optics, and photobiomodulation. The presentation examines evidence that infrared light may influence the molecular motions involved in electron transfer—and asks whether broadband sunlight may affect mitochondrial metabolism in ways that monochromatic light cannot fully reproduce.
